PURPOSE:To reduce the total number of parts and to improve the retrieving efficiency of parts by forming an I/O matrix for all the parts, weighting respective I/O items and grouping similar parts to a unit to be combined. CONSTITUTION:The automatic software forming device is provided with a parts reconstituting device 5 for extracting parts from a parts control device 4 and changing the constitutional unit of parts from the I/O information of respective parts and a parts combining device 6 for deforming and combining software parts obtained from the device 4 based upon a request outputted from a specification control device 2. Existing software parts are arranged in the I/O matrix by remarking only the I/O items, respective input and output items in the I/O matrix are calculated so as to be weighted and rearranged in the order of weight and respective parts capable of sharing the I/O item are grouped in consideration of program size. The group of parts is corrected as a new part and reregistered in a parts storage device 3. Consequently, the total number of parts is reduced and the retrieving efficiency of parts is improved.
