<p>PURPOSE:To maintain a relative speed between a head and a tape at a high speed search to be constant by detecting a tape traveling speed from rotating speeds of tape supply side and take-up side reel bases and controlling the revolving speed for a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:First, the rotating speeds of the supply side reel base 5 and take-up side reel base 6 are detected by a tape traveling speed detecting means 9 when the tape 2 is traveling at a prescribed speed by a tape reproducing means 15, and the length of the tape 2 is discriminated by a tape length discriminating means 8. Secondly, the rotating speeds of the reel bases 5 and 6 are detected by the detecting means 9 during use, and a control signal corresponding to a deviation amt. from a calculation result of a tape traveling speed and a cylinder revolving speed is outputted by a relative speed deviation detecting means 13. Based on this control signal, the cylinder revolving speed is controlled in order to make the relative speed between the head 1 and the tape 2 constant by a cylinder revolving speed control means 14, thus obtaining a superior high speed search system.</p> |
