Smooth filament yarn texturising - uses an air jet for dry yarn after torsional crimping

To texturise a smooth filament yarn, the yarn is texturised by an air blowing system while in a dry unmoistened condition after the torsional crimping stage. A yarn overfeed is applied to the yarn before the blown air texturising stage, with an overfeed of less than 20% per time unit, and pref. 14-18% overfeed. For texturising, air is used at a pressure of less than 10 bar, and pref. in a 4-6 bar range. The yarn is fed on a straight line on an extension of the passage opening of the air texturising jet. ADVANTAGE - The finished yarn has the same characteristics as an air blown textursied yarn, with low equipment costs.
