The ignition coil includes a housing made of an insulating material and opens on one side, a magnetic circuit arranged in a selaing compound with primary and secondary winding arranged on bobbins as well as freely accessible plug-connectors for the primary and secondary connection (terminal). Also included is a magnetic core extending through the coaxially arranged bobbins and having reflux circuits surrounding the housing, which has a moulded h.v. dome (8) sticking out from the housing and aligned coaxially to the plug connector. A top-face orifice (9) is provided on the h.v. dome (8) and is set at right angles to the centre axis of the coils, and the bottom part of the housing (1) lying opposite the orifice (9) has an entrance orifice (11) for the secondary terminal pin (12), and two opposite-facing side walls of the housing (1) have orifices (14) serving as an entrance for the magnetic core.
