PURPOSE:To obtain a satisfactory picture by detecting the temperature of an image carrier while judging the type of developer contained in a developing means, and driving an electrifying means after correcting a driving current when the surface potential of the image carrier in the detected temperature deviates from the range within which the desirable picture-characteristic of developer can be obtained. CONSTITUTION:By discriminating the type of developer contained in a developing unit 121 or 122 selected by a color selecting key and the type of developer contained in the unselected developing unit, the range of the surface potential of a photosensitive drum 10, within which desirable picture-characteristic can be obtained by the developer, is recognized. On the other hand, the temperature of the photosensitive drum 10 is detected by a temperature detector 54. When the surface potential of the photosensitive drum 10 in the detected temperature deviates from the range within which the desirable picture-characteristic of the developer is obtained, a driving current is corrected. The surface potential of the photosensitive drum 10 is made to fall in the desirable picture- characteristic obtainable range by driving an electrifier 11 at the corrected driving current. Thus, a satisfactory picture can be obtained irrespective of the type of developer. |
