PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium at low cost with good production efficiency even when dyes of similar molecular structures and solubilities in solvents are used, by dispersing the dyes in respective polymers of different solubilities from each other and then depositing these polymers. CONSTITUTION:A dye is dispersed or dissolved in a methanol solution of polyvinylacohol, which is soluble in methanol but insoluble in acetone, applied on a substrate 1 by spin coating, and dried to vaporize the methanol and to form a recording layer 2. Then another liquid is prepared by dispersing or dissolving a dye in an acetone solution of polyvinylchloride or the like, which is insoluble in methanol but soluble in acetone, and applied on the substrate 1 by spin coating, dried to vaporize acetone and to form a recording layer 3. Then a recording layer 4 is formed by the same method as in forming the layer 2. Thereby, thin films of dyes having similar solubilities and similar structures can be deposited without damaging the adjacent recording layers, and thus, the medium can be produced at low cost with good production effi ciency. |
