Attaching of cams to hollow camshaft - by diametral expansion of camshaft by hydraulic pressure and axial load
摘要
The invention concerns a method of attaching components to a hollow shaft and in partic. to attaching cams (T1 to T4) to a hollow camshaft (H). The cams (T1 to T4) are threaded on to the camshaft (H) which is mounted vertically on a support whilst the cams (T1 to T4) are held in their required positions by a jib (3). The interior of the hollow shaft (H) is then subjected to a high hydraulic pressure which causes a plastic diametral expansion of the shaft. Whilst still being subjected to this internal pressure the shaft (H) is subjected to a high axial force which causes a further diametral expansion of the shaft (H) in the regions between the cams.
