A hose clamp, which consists of an essentially circular central part 1 and a pair of lugs 3, one on either side of and formed in one piece with the central part 1, is open in the transition between the central part 1 and each lug 3 and intended to be clamped together in this portion 4 around, for example, a hose 2. The central part 1 is, on one side of the open portion 4, provided with a tongue 5 which is directed towards a seat 6 on the opposite side of the open portion 4 and arranged so as, when the lug 3 is clamped together, to come to bear against the seat 6 and in this way bridge or close the portion 4. In a method of production of such a hose clamp, a tube is extruded, with a central part of circular shape in cross section, two hollow portions located one on either side of the central part, which project transversely and extend along the central part, and with an internal longitudinal flange edge on each side of the central part at the transition between the central part and the hollow portions. Hose clamps are then formed by transversely cutting the tube formed in this way. <IMAGE> |
