Filled, plasticised rubber compsn. or mixt. (I) for the prodn. of balloons for hydraulic accumulators contains 100 pts.wt. acrylonitrile-butadiene (AB) rubber, 1-5 pts.wt. ZnO, 1-3 pts.wt. stearic acid, 40-60 pts.wt. furnace black, 8-12 pts.wt. dibutyl phthalate (DBP), 0.5-1.5 pts.wt. N-phenyl-N'-isopropyl -p-phenylenediamine (II), 0.5-2 pts.wt. 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline (III), 0.5-2 pts.wt. 4- or 5-methylmercapto -benzimidazole (IV), 1-3 pts.wt. paraffin, 0.1-0.5 pts.wt. S, 1.5-2.5 pts.wt. thiuram and 1.5-2 pts.wt. N-cyclohexyl-2-benzthiazolyl sulphonamide (V). USE/ADVANTAGE - W.r.t. prior-art compsns., (I) gives vulcanised prods. with better physical/mechanical properties, good resistance to hydraulic oil and nitrogen and greater reliability in operation, combined with good rubber/metal and rubber/rubber adhesion.
