Stretching device for tensile testing machine - has two deflection bodies fixed relative to chucks for removed on loading of chucks

A stretching device, esp. for tensile testing machines, with two chucks for gripping of very strong thread or strip type materials, e.g. also wires, and transmission of a tensile force in a material section running between two gripping points, whereby respectively in front of the gripping points a deflection system is arranged. The deflection system for removal of the loading of the chucks (2, 3) consists of two deflection bodies (16, 18, 20) arranged fixed relative to the chucks (2, 3) or able to be fixed in an end position, across which the material section (6) in the region before each chuck (2, 3) can be deflected running opposite to the side of the material section (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - For establishing max. tensile force, max. tensile stress and course of stress/strain curve. Known type developed so that tensional force reacting on chucks is considerably reduced and simultaneously eases automatic insertion of test specimen.
