<p>PURPOSE:To avoid the production of a discomfortable impact noise by retreating a guide member from a transport path by the firmness of a paper sheet itself if the guide member is projected into the transport path when a paper sheet is transported from one of two or more transport paths towards a confluence portion. CONSTITUTION:When a paper sheet is sent out from an upper stage paper feed portion and transported near a separation mechanism 13 through an upper stage transport path 3, if a guide member 15 is put in a solid line position the leading end of the paper sheet is guided by an upper portion 4a and the trailing end of the paper sheet is smoothly guided by the guide member 15 to be transferred onto the upper portion 4a. Accordingly, there is no possibility that the trailing end of the paper sheet collides with the upper portion 4a to produce a noise. When a paper sheet is fed from the upper stage paper feed portion 1 and the guide member 15 is put in a dashed line position, the guide member 15 is displaced by the firmness of the paper sheet itself while the leading end of the paper sheet is transported further forward from the upper stage transport path, and the guide member is turned to a solid line position to be retreated from the transport path.</p> |
