PURPOSE:To obtain a hardener for a liquid glass-based grout used for stabilizing soft ground which is improved in storage stability and easy to handle in site by dissolving an alkali acid sulfate and a water-soluble alkaline earth metal salt in water and solidifying it to have a prescribed water content. CONSTITUTION:A hardener for a liquid glass-based grout which contains an alkali metal silicate such as lithium silicate, sodium silicate or potassium silicate, and is injected into soft ground to consolidate it for stabilization is obtained by heating an aqueous solution of an alkali acid sulfate (e.g. KHSO4 or NaHSO4) and a water-soluble alkaline earth metal salt (e.g. MgSO4) (weight ratio: 10/1 to 2/1, preferably 8/1 to 4/1) to about 150 deg.C at atmospheric pressure and dehydrating the solution by heating so that it becomes a solid with a water content of 20wt.% or less. |
