Disclosed are thermoplastic compositions having improved mechanical characteristics, stiffness and thermoresistance, comprising a blend of: (A) an impact-resistant vinyl-aromatic copolymer comprising a vinyl-aromatic monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated nitrile wherein the monomers have been polymerized in the presence of and grafted onto a rubber substrate having a glass transition temperature (Tg) lower than 0 DEG C; (B) a polyamide resin; (C) a compatibilizing polymer comprising at least one copolymerized monomer containing a functional group reactive with the polyamide resin, said monomer being present in an amount substantially equal to that of the ethylenically unsaturated nitrile of the copolymer of component (A).
