PURPOSE:To enhance the capacity to maintain resistance against damage, chemical, water-proofness and prevent sticking by providing a protecting layer consisting of resin cured by ultraviolet beam on an at least single ply thermally sensitive layer containing an electron-donative dye precursor in a microcapsule. CONSTITUTION:A fog generated during the manufacture of a thermally sensitive record ing material can be prevented by incorporating an electron-donative dye precursor in a microcapsule, and at the same time, the material can be preserved fresh and maintain recorded data in satisfactory condition. Then a protecting layer consisting mainly of resin cured by an ultraviolet beam is provided on a thermally sensitive layer formed on a support for the purpose of giving the capacity to maintain resistance against damage and solvent as well as water-proofness to an obtained thermally sensi tive recording material. The resin component cured by an ultraviolet beam which is used for a protecting layer includes optically polymerizable monomer, prepolymer and an optical polymerization initiator as essential components. When the protecting layer is provide, it is recommended that an intermediate layer of water-soluble polymer be provided from a viewpoint of increasing the strength of a coating and preventing unnecessary color development during the application of a protecting layer. |
