Novel hydroxyalkinyl-azolyl derivatives of the formula <IMAGE> (I) in which Ar represents optionally substituted aryl, R represents alkyl, optionally substituted aryl or optionally substituted aralkyl, X1 represents halogen, X2 represents hydrogen or halogen, X3 represents hydrogen or halogen, X4 represents hydrogen or halogen and n represents 0 or 1, and acid addition salts and metal salt complexes thereof, are outstandingly effective as fungicides.
