<p>PURPOSE: To attain the burst synchronization of mutual base stations in an existing communicating structure by providing at least one base station with a means for measuring the relative phase of transmission/reception burst between two base stations and a means for synchronizing a phase in one base station. CONSTITUTION: Two base stations 10 and 12 are adjacent to each other, and each base station can communicate with portable transmitters/receivers 14, 16, and 18, etc. Radio communication between the base stations 10 and 12 and the transmitters/receivers 14, 16, and 18 is operated by a burst mode duplex, and it is the alternate periods of transmission and reception on a common radio channel. Then, at least one base station is provided with a means for deciding the relative phase of transmission/reception burst in the two stations and a means for bringing or directing a phase in one base station to synchronization for synchronizing the operations of the two adjacent base stations 10 and 12. Thus, the synchronization of the base stations 10 and 12 can be realized, and an existing air interface signal structure can be used.</p> |
