PURPOSE:To obtain the subject electrode, having counter plate electrodes and insulating members equipped with a liquid-tight flat bottom face and useful for cell fusion, etc., without any danger of cell damage by electrical cell operation and capable of eliminating operation to transfer a cell suspension after the aforementioned operation. CONSTITUTION:The objective electrode, constructed from at least one pair of counter plate electrodes 1 to 1''', insulating members 3 and 3' capable of holding the aforementioned electrodes 1 to 1''' parallel with a mutual interval and restricting side wall parts of gap parts 5 to 5'' for housing a cell suspension to be treated together with the above-mentioned electrodes 1 to 1''' and electrical terminals 4 and 4' connected to the aforementioned electrodes 1 to 1''' and having the above-mentioned electrodes 1 to 1''' and the aforementioned insulating members 3 and 3' with liquid-tight flat bottom faces.
