PURPOSE:To allow fixing in such a manner that the sectional change of silicone and the loss and deterioration of an optical fiber do not arise by drawing out a part of the side face of a jacket material to the outer side along the outer periphery and holding this part by a fixing member. CONSTITUTION:The jacketed optical fiber 15 is pinched from top and bottom directions by approximately semi-circular working parts 3, 4 formed to fixing members 1, 2. Since the working parts are formed smaller in the diameter in the horizontal direction smaller than the outside diameter of the jacket, the side face of the jacket material 28 which cannot be housed in the working parts is deformed along the outer periphery and is drawn out to the spacing having slopes 5 of the fixing means. The drawn-out jacket material 18 fixes the optical fiber 15 held by the fixing members 1, 2. The shape change of the silicone 17 which acts as a buffer to external force and the generation of the stress on the optical fiber 16 do not arise and the fixing strength of the jacketed optical fiber 15 is improved. |
