PURPOSE:To increase recording capacity by determining the position of an information pit on an information track apart from the position of adjacent information pit at a distance 2/3<0.5> time of the track pitch. CONSTITUTION:The position of an information pit is decided at a certain distance d from the adjacent information pit on the same track, without depending on the radial position of the track on the disk. Also, between adjacent tracks, nearest pits are disposed at a certain distance almost equal to (d). Information is recorded to maintain the distance (d) about 2/3<0.5> time of the track pitch. Thereby, the track pitch can be reduced while the track density can be increased. Since density of pits on lines can be kept constant from inner tracks 3 to outer tracks 4, recording capacity of the medium can be increased. |
