PURPOSE:To improve spalling resistance of porous refractory for gas blowing by molding a mixture comprising a specific amount of TiO2, one or more compounds containing Si<++>, Zr<++>, Fe<++>, Mg<++>, Li<+>, Ni<++> or Cr<++> and the rest of Al2O3 as main materials and calcining. CONSTITUTION:0.3-15wt.% rutile type and/or anatase type TiO2 having preferably <=44mum average particle diameter is blended with <=10wt.% one or more compounds selected from SiO2, ZrO2, Fe2O3, MgO, Li2O NiO, Cr2O3, etc., having an ionic radius equal to or smaller than the radius of Ti cation and containing Si<++>, Zr<++>, Fe<++>, Mg<++>, Li<+>, Ni<++> or Cr<++> and the rest of Al2O3 as main materials. The blend is mixed with about 1-5wt.% based on the whole blend of an inorganic or organic binder, kneaded, then molded under pressure and calcined at 1,300-1,800 deg.C to give a porous refractor for gas blowing. |
