<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the variation of re-combustion state due to differences in trap temperature by setting particulate scavenging quantity in response to the detected trap temperature. CONSTITUTION:A controller 14 sets the particulate scavenging quantity in response to the inlet temperature of a particulate trap 3 detected by a temperature sensor 13. Namely, it is so set that the scavenging quantity becomes small when the trap temperature before the start-up of re-combustion is high, and the scavenging quantity becomes large when the trap temperature is low. Then, a reference differential pressure that responds to the set value of the scavenging quantity and the volume of exhaust gas converted from the intake air volume of an engine 1 detected by an air flow sensor 11 is determined, and the re- combustion operation of the trap 3 is started when the actual differential pressure in front and in rear of the trap 3 detected by a differential pressure sensor 6 exceeds the reference differential pressure. With these means, the variation of recombustion state due to difference in trap temperature can be prevented.</p> |
