PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrasonic beam uniform and fine over the entire area by forming amplitude weight, such that piezoelectric converting power is large in the center part for each opening and decreased toward the end part, and almost equalizing ratios of the piezoelectric conversion power in the center part to that of the end part for respective openings. CONSTITUTION:An electrode on one surface of each piezoelectric element 1 is formed in a diamond shape and separated as in the case of electrodes A, B, A' by etching or the like. These electrodes are insulated from each other with the electrodes A, A' connected to each other in an FPC4 and drawn out by a lead wire 5b and the electrode B drawn out by a lead wire 5a. Further, these lead wires 5a, 5b are connected to or disconnected from each other in a device main unit, and wave transceiving is performed with the electrodes A, B, A' simultaneously driven in a width (a) and sufficiently weighted diamond opening, at the time of connection between the lead wires and, with the electrode B driven in a width (b) and an opening, weighted simultaneously with the time of connection between lead wires at the time of disconnection therebetween. Also, by alternately selecting the opening actually, an ultrasonic beam is scanned and synthesized in accordance with an area. The ultrasonic beam characteristic thus obtained is in a large degree of improvement in -20db beam width, and a fine ultrasonic beam over the entire area can be obtained. |
