PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a backup lining refractory by lining a molten metal container with a specific refractory. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal container lined with a material containing a soluble alkali metal salt by a casting process is further lined with a backup lining refractory composed of Al2O3-SiO2, Al2O3-SiO2-ZrO2 or ZrO2-SiO2 refractory having a silicate content of <=10wt.% excluding zircon and mullite. |
