A bearing halfshell for an internal combustion engine connecting rod comprises an inner surface (12) having a substantially constant radius of curvature from a central plane of symmetry (A) to corresponding radial planes (P) which form an acute angle ( alpha ) with a bearing parting plane (19), the remaining end portions of the inner surface (12) being defined by surfaces (13) which gradually decrease away from the central plane of symmetry (A) in such a manner as to form two chambers in the end portions. This ensures a stable film of oil between the bearing halfshell and the corresponding shaft and reduces the operating temperature of the bearing halfshell. <IMAGE> |
