The present invention relates to a double pneumatic thrust cylinder whose role is that of acting as a stop piece alternately for the stub axles (2) of a self-steering axle (4), which can operate in forwards or reverse travel. Fig. 4 shows these double pneumatic thrust cylinders in operation in a bend. The top thrust cylinder, fed by the arrival of air (18) is under pressure, and acts as a stop piece. The bottom one, which is at rest (therefore practically empty of air) in contrast allows the free excursion of the rods (14) (15) and (22) this, even beyond the travel for crushing the rubber lung (17), by virtue of the breakage point (20) of the rods attached to the stub axles (2). <IMAGE>
