The present invention relates to an anti-draining device for the fuel suction (lifting) systems of motor vehicles, of the type comprising: a receptacle (110) intended to be placed in the fuel tank, the bottom (120) of the receptacle being at least substantially adjacent to the bottom of the tank, and communicating with the tank through an orifice (130), a fuel delivery tube, the outlet (20) of which is placed facing the orifice (130), namely at least substantially adjacent to the bottom of the tank, characterised in that it further comprises: an intermediate chamber (150) built into the receptacle (110) downstream of the orifice (130) so that the latter constitutes the inlet passage of the intermediate chamber (150), and the intermediate chamber (150) having a bottom (152) which rises progressively away from the said orifice (130) and emerges in the receptacle (110). <IMAGE>
