PURPOSE:To realize successive perfecting presswork by providing a direction converter in a printing machine having a plurality of printing units. CONSTITUTION:A visiting card 3 printed by an upper printing unit 2 is discharged onto a conveyor belt provided in a discharge unit 4, and carried to a direction converter 7 through nip rollers 5 and feed rollers 6. The direction converter 7 in the form of an inverted V-shape is inclined at 40-50 degrees to the axis of rollers 6 and extends diagonally upwardly. When the visiting card which is introduced in the direction converter 7 is separated from the roller 6, it immediately changes its progressive direction due to its own weight and falls onto different rollers 8. The visiting card which is passed through the rollers 8 is nipped by guide rollers 9 which gives 90 deg. conversion and converted to a lower printing unit by a belt 10. The card is turned over by 180 deg. by a roller 11 before entering a paper feeder 14 of the lower printing unit. Thereafter, the visiting card 12 having one printed surface facing downwardly and the other non-printed surface facing upwardly is carried to a paper feeder 14. The other non-printed surface of the visiting card is then printed, following the same procedure as the upper printing unit. |
