PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricating oil composed of a polyoxyalkylene glycol having Cl groups or Cl groups having ether O bonds with hardly any abrasion wear in sliding parts of compression type refrigerators using tetrafluoroethane as a refrigerant. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubricating oil composed of a polyoxyalkylene glycol, prepared by copolymerizing propylene oxide, ethylene oxide, etc., and substituting part or all of the hydrogen groups by Cl group or Cl groups with ether O bonds and having preferably a molecular weight within the range of 300-3000. When the aforementioned lubricating oil is used, part of the Cl groups or Cl groups having ether O bonds are cleaved if the polyalkylene glycol on coated sliding surfaces attains a state of an extreme pressure to react with sliding members and produce chlorides. Thereby, sliding characteristics are remarkably improved due to complex effects thereof with a phosphorus-based extreme pressure additive. |
