Generator of a frequency-modulated signal, of the ramp signal type (20), with a modulation law which is linear or non-linear. A conventional generator (19), with a SAW dispersive filter or using digital generation, supplies the reference (20) for a phase-locked loop (21) including a narrow-band filter (22) and pre-positioned by a sawtooth signal (24) suitable for controlling the V.C.O. (23) of the loop in accordance with the variation law of this ramp signal. Possible application to Fourier converters and to pulse compression devices. <IMAGE>
