PURPOSE:To enable measurement under condition of pressurizing without lowering gas pressure in a furnace by sticking a flexible hollow annular state seal material to seal mechanism side with fluid pressure and sealing gap between the seal mechanism and a sub-lance inserting cylinder. CONSTITUTION:At the time of measuring temp. in the furnace with the sub-lance 5, at first, the seal mechanism 22 at outer circumference of the sub-lance is laid to a seal mechanism receiver 22 arranged at outer circumference of upper end of the sub-lance inserting cylinder 10 and locked with a fixing device 31. Successively, the fluid is caused to flow into the flexible hollow annular state seal material 24 provided on inclined upper face 23 in the seal mechanism receiver 22, and the cross sectional diameter is increased with the pressure of this fluid and the gap between the seal mechanism 27 and the sub-lance inserting cylinder 10, is sealed. Successively, after opening a water cooling type gas seal valve 21 at intermediate part of the sub-lance inserting cylinder 10 and a water cooling type radiant heat cutoff valve 17, while injecting N2 gas into the sub-lance inserting cylinder 10 from N2 gas injecting device 11 at lower end of the sub-lance inserting cylinder 10, the sub-lance 5 at the waiting position is descended to the temp. measuring position in the converter. |
