PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of the whiteness of a blank paper part and to keep a recording image stably by using not only a specific basic dye but also a metal salt of a specific salicylic acid derivative being a coupler in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer containing a colorless-light-colored basic dye and a coupler forming a color upon the contact with the basic dye is pro vided on a support and, as the basic dye, 2,2-bis[4-6'-(N-cyclohexyl-N- methylamino)-3'-methylspiro[phthalide-3, 9'-xanthene]-2'-ylamlino] phenyl} pro pane is used and, as the coupler, a metal salt of a salicylic acid derivative represented by formula I (wherein X and Y are respectively a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a saturated group, an unsaturated group or a cycloalkyl group and these three groups may be substituted with a halogen atom, an aryl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an acylamino group, an aminocarbonyl group or a cyano group) is used. |
