FERMENTATOR

This fermentor is intended for use in the culture of microorganisms in the fermentation and microbiology industries. It reacts strongly to instantaneous change of pressure. This is achieved by connecting a quick acting valve (1) by its lower part to the inner chamber of the fermentor, which is equipped with a cylindrical vessel (8) and a radial stirring device (11) via a backpressure vent (2). The valve (1) consists of two hermetically sealed chambers, one of which is installed with a vent, which in turn is linked to a high pressure source. The vent is held to the opposite side of the chamber by springs and is statically fixed to a rod, with one end protruding out of the chamber. The other end of the rod is connected to a membrane, which shuts down the second hermetically sealed chamber, the latter being linked to a second high-pressure source. The two chambers are situated opposite each other, are static, between them a flange which keeps the rod in one of two possible positions.
