The invention relates to a method for preparing a packaging film used in an automatic process in which the film is continuously unwound from a reel and is then shaped around the bouquet before being heat sealed in order to close off the packaged article. In accordance with an essential aspect of the invention, the film (1) passes continuously into a coating station (100) where one face of the film, corresponding to the inner face of the packaged article, is coated with an anti-misting product, the coating being limited to unconnected successive zones (200) by virtue of an intermittent application method, so as to leave non-coated zones of film (201, 202) remaining around each of the coated zones (200), the non-coated zones corresponding, after shaping of the film (1) around the bouquet, to the heat-sealed zones of the said film.
