The sheet metal is formed into a circular sheel or tube, by bending the sheet by means of rollers. The sheet metal is guided by passing it between the gap between two sets of rollers (3,4) with the one set (4) mounted above the other set (3). After passing between these sets of rollers (3,4), the sheet metal passes between the pair of bending rollers (1,2). These bending rollers are so mounted that one roller can be swung about the axis of the other roller through an angle (alpha).
