The piston ring with a gas-seal has an underside which is depressurised inwards so that the bearing or pressurised active side corresponds to the maximum active contact surface level. The active contact surface level is high enough for there to be no over-twisting with 75 percent stroke height in the compacting stroke with a nominal rotational speed. The contact surface part above the active range is removed permanently from resting against the cylindrical contact surface. USE/ADVANTAGE - The cross section of the ring is relatively large for applying tangential force, for reducing wear.
