The assorting inlay (10) consists of a material blank (12) which can be extended transversely and longitudinally and deformed plastically and which forms dimensionally stable deformations, in particular bowl-shaped depressions. Assorting inlays with bowl-shaped depressions (11) for containing chocolates are obtained by deforming the material blank, in particular by deep drawing.
