Teaching apparatus comprising a base member (12). Component mounting means (40, 42) are located on the base member and able to removably receive terminals of circuit components and/or electrical conductors (82, 84) to provide electrical connections therewith. A sheet member (46) has a plurality of apertures (40A, 42A) at locations corresponding to the locations of the mounting means (40, 42) on the base member (12). When the sheet member (46) is laid over the base member (12), the apertures (40A, 42A) allow access to the mounting means (40, 42). The sheet member bears instructions visible when laid on the base member (12). These indicate the selection and connection of components required to create a predetermined circuit.
