A process and assembly for the sepn. of gas mixts. under cyclic pressure. In a process using adsorbtive sepn. of gas mixts. gas is drawn in by a rotary pump. The novelty is that unpressurised gas is sucked in via the pump inlet and then compressed whereupon a part of the gas mixt. is absorbed. The non-adsorbent gas prod. or effluent gas 1 is then sepd. through an outlet valve. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process simplifies the design and construction of cyclic pressure adsorbtion gas sepn. plant used in the chemicals, and foods industries, in medical applications and for the removal of gaseous industrial effluents. Only small quantities of adsorbents are required. The arrangement lends itself to dealing with small quantities of a wide range of gases in different locations in a quasi-continuous process.
