Cast object, for e.g. jewellery or dental purposes, is produced from precious metal alloy by lost wax process using pattern contg. 0.1-20, pref. 3-10 wt.% of grain refining agent uniformly dispersed in wax and/or plastic. Agent has particle size of less than 100 mu, pref. 1-50 mu, and is selected from Co-Ti silicate, Co-Zr silicate, Ti dioxide and/or Zr dioxide. ADVANTAGE - Fine grain structure with good polishing characteristics is obtd.
