<p>A passenger lift system which optimises the use of space in tall buildings by providing a number of lift cars and two lift shafts. One shaft is dedicated to upwards travel and the other to downwards travel, cars are transferred from shaft to shaft at the top and bottom. Each car is independently wound and moves to respond to: a) a call from a landing; b) a destrination demanded from witin the car; c) to move away ahead of another car. Car doors and landing doors are used as in a conventional lift system.</p> |
