<p>A method and apparatus for supplying screw components such as bolts and nuts to predetermined positions and tightening them. The apparatus includes a holding member (21) which can hold a screw component at its tip and can move them in a longitudinal direction and a rotary supply rod (4) which has an engagement head at its tip engaging with the screw component, rotating it and capable of moving in a longitudinal direction. First the holding member (21) holds the screw component at or near the end portion of a component supply path (14) and then moves in the longitudinal direction to a position at which the screw component is coaxial with the supply rod (4). Thereafter, the engagement head (5) of the supply rod (4) advances and the holding member (21) moves back substantially simultaneously with the engagement of the engagement head (5) with the screw component, thus permitting the supply rod to advance. The screw component is supplied to a mating member such as a screw hole or bolt and tightened.</p> |
