<p>With regard to silencers incorporated in an exhaust system and surmounted by a heat shield (2), it is necessary to use a device (1) for ensuring the fastening of this heat shield (2) to the pipe sections (6, 7) extending on either side of said silencer (5), this device being capable of mitigating the differential expansions of these elements thus associated, without the risk of vibrations, and its mounting being automatable. To achieve this, this device consists of split rings (10) fitted onto the pipe sections (6, 7) extending on either side of the silencer or silencers (5) surmounted by a shield (2), these split rings (10) gripping the ends (8, 9) of this shield (2) on said pipe sections (6, 7) and interacting with means for connection by welding (11) so as to keep them tightly secured. <IMAGE></p> |
