PURPOSE:To prevent the stopping of combustion and the leakage of the gas in a furnace to and after a secondary combustion furnace in a suppressed combustion furnace used for incineration, etc. of radioactive wastes by closing the valve as soon as an emergency situation happens and shutting off the air supply from the combustion air supply duct and at the same time supplying an inert gas to the lower section in the furnace and to the inlet side and, further, opening a bypass duct at the upper section of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:A valve 11 is installed to a combustion air supply duct 7, the valve 11 being for shutting the air supply duct 7 in an emergency. An inert gas source 12 is provided which supplies inert gases such as CO2, N2, etc. into the furnace in an emergency for the lower section of the furnace body 1 and the outlet side of exhaust gas, and a CO2 gas storage cylinder 4 is used. By opening valves 13 and 14 in an emergency an inert gas is supplied to the lower section of the furnace such as a combustion air supply duct 7, an ash takeout box 8, etc. and to the outlet side which goes to a secondary combustion furnace 2. Further, a bypass line 15 is provided for a safety valve 9 in the upper section of the furnace, and the gas in the furnace is led to an exhaust gas cylinder 6 through a filter 10 by opening a valve 16 in an emergency. The dispersion to the outside of the combustion gas, ash, etc. which contain radioactivity is, therefore, prevented in an emergency and the combustion of a suppressed combustion furnace is stopped safely. |
