<p>The invention relates to a management system for parking spaces and the like comprising a plurality of locations each able to be occupied by a vehicle. The system according to the invention is characterised in that it comprises at least one entry detector (2-5, 9, 10-13, 16) for vehicles, arranged at the entry (8, 9) of the space and/or of a group of locations such as a stage, at least one exit detector (2-5, 9, 10-13, 16) for vehicles, arranged at the exit (8, 9) from the space and/or from the said group of locations, the signals emitted by the said detectors (2-5, 9, 10-13, 16) being sent to means of data processing configured to deduce from the total number of locations in the space and/or in the group of locations the number of vehicles detected by the respective entry detectors (2-5, 9, 10-13, 16) and to add to it the number of vehicles detected by the respective exit detectors (2-5, 9, 10-13, 16), the said processing means controlling at least one device for display (32) of the resulting number.
