PURPOSE:To obtain the oxide superconductor having high degree of orientation and thus excellent in super conducting characteristics such as critical current density, at the time of subjecting oxide superconducting powder to pressure compacting in a uniaxial direction, by limiting the thickness of a superconductor obtd. after subjected to pressurizing. CONSTITUTION:At the time of manufacturing an oxide superconductor by pressurizing oxide super conducting powder in a uniaxial direction, the amt. of the oxide superconducting powder is controlled so that the thickness of a superconductor obtd. after subjected to pressurizing is regulated to <=100 mum, which is then subjected to pressure compacting. Since the amt. of the oxide superconducting powder is controlled so that the thickness of the obtd. superconductor is regulated to <=100 mum, the applied pressure is conducted not only to the surface but also to the inner part of a green compact almost uniformly, so that the oxide superconductor in which whole crystals from the surface to the center are oriented can be obtd. |
