<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate a fear that an air bag main body directly hits against the face and the chest of a crew by letting junction sections which partition the air bag main body into respective small chambers, be separated, and thereby constituting the air bag main body to swell up into the form of the air bag main body composed of a rear side member and a front side member when a part of the respective small chambers or the whole of them is pressurized in excess of a specified value. CONSTITUTION:When the gas generator 17 of an air bag device 11 is actuated because of conditions such as collisions and the like, gas is instantly supplied into the inside of an air bag main body 19 through gas injection ports 17a so that the respective small chambers 20a, 20b, 20c and 20d of the air bag main body 19 thereby swell up. In the second place, when the respective small chambers 20a through 20d are pressurized in excess of a specified value, a plurality of junction sections 27 is separated so that these small chambers swell up to form the whole shape of the air bag main body 19 composed of the whole of a front side member 19a and a rear side member 19b. This thereby enables the quantity of swelling of the air bag main body 19 to be controlled by letting a part or the whole of the respective small chambers 20a through 20d swell up first respectively, thereby making it possible to eliminate a fear that the air bag main body 19 directly hits against the face and the chest of a crew.</p> |
