PURPOSE:To clean the nipples and papillae of a dairy cow and prevent mammitis by using a polyacrylonitrile cloth containing 0.1 wt.% or more of iodine in the form of polyacrylonitrile-iodine complex. CONSTITUTION:This invention comprises a polyacrylonitrile cloth containing 0.1 wt.% or more of iodide in the form of polyacrylonitrile-iodide complex. To manufacture this, a cloth of polyacrylonitrile alone, or blended yarn cloth or union cloth of polyacrylonitrile and cellulose fibers is selected. The cloth consisting of these fibers is dipped in an aqueous solution containing 5 % or more of salt or sodium sulfate 20-50 times by weight. A solution of iodide corre sponding to 1-2 wt.% of the cloth dissolved to potassium iodide or sodium iodide is added thereto, and the temperature is gradually raised to 90-100 deg.C, and then held at the same temperature. Hence, a stable complex of polyacrylonitrile and iodide is formed, and the resulting cloth is taken out, washed with water and dried. |
