PURPOSE: To shorten a length in the direction of whole shaft of an actuating unit and reduce manufacturing cost by arranging a means forming a force in the opposite direction to input in an input member inside a housing of a booster when a first pressure chamber of a master cylinder causes a failure. CONSTITUTION: When a first pressure chamber 14 of a master cylinder 2 causes a failure, an input member 3 travels over the full stroke, and a first piston 19 comes into contact with a second piston, a compression spring 28 transmitting a force by engaging with the input member 3 to transmit a sense of braking to a driver is provided inside booster housing 10, one end thereof is tightened against a cylindrical projection 33 of an intermediate member 11 coaxial with the intermediate member 11, and the other end thereof is arranged at a position of a distance (a) from a transverse pin 23. The distance (a) corresponds to an operation stroke (b) of the first piston 19 when the first pressure chamber 14 causes a failure. The effect of reaction force is transmitted to the driver in this way. |
