PURPOSE: To reduce the value of the variation in the radial force to the tire attached on a rim to a tolerable level without changing uniformity and appearance standards by measuring the variation in radial force of the rotary assembly of an assembling rim and a tire on a uniformity inspection machine and correcting the positioning of a tire bead wire corresponding to the obtained value by using a ring-shaped wedge. CONSTITUTION: A compensating wedge 30 comprising plastic or the like is a ring having an outer periphery of 2πR1 and an inner periphery of 2πR2 . The thickness (e) of the compensating wedge 30 is determined by obtaining a signal showing the variation of measured and recorded general radial force FR and resolving this signal into its principal higher harmonics FRH1 , FRH2 ...FRH16 of 1-16 times. The vibration motion showing the variation in radial force over one rotation of a wheel is reconstituted. This vibration motion has the measured amplitude A between the max. value FM and min. value Fm related to the circumferential position measured in the degree units of 192 deg. and 348 deg. with respect to the mark formed on a tire. The max. thickness eM of the wedge corresponds to the max value FM and the min. thickness em (0.3 mm) thereof corresponds to the min. value Fm .
