PURPOSE:To carry out compensation of exposure quantity and to display the degree of soiling by controlling the light quantity of an exposure lamp responding to the difference when the difference between reflected light quantity from an original mat detected again after copying of a multiple number of pieces and a reference value is below a specified value, and generating a warning when the difference exceeds the specified value. CONSTITUTION:When a place where an original does not exist on a contacting glass 2 is detected by a detecting means GS, the exposure quantity of that part, that is the reflected light quantity from the original mat 3 is stored in a storing means as the reference value. Then, after copying of a multiple number of pieces is carried out, the reflected light quantity from the original mat 3 is detected again, and if the difference between that value and the reference value is below the specified value, the light quantity of the exposure lamp 4 is controlled responding to that difference. That is, since when the optical system is soiled the reflected light quantity is changed, the light quantity of the exposure lamp 4 is controlled so that an appropriate exposure light quantity is obtained responding to this change. Further, if the difference exceeds the specified value, a warning is generated by a warning means. Thus, compensation of exposure quantity responding to the soiling of the optical system is carried out, and the degree of soiling is informed. |
